About the Event

Join one of our weekly volunteer gardening crews. Connect with your community, share skills & knowledge and help us create a thriving and abundant garden. During the school term we have weekly sessions every Monday & Friday morning and everyone is welcome to join in.

On Mondays we take care of general garden maintenance like mowing, edging and weeding. There are always plenty of jobs to do, whether you’re a complete novice in the garden or an experienced horticulturalist. On Mondays we also have some keen vegie gardeners who raise seeds and plant out seasonal vegetables and greens into our raised beds. This year we hope to build up to produce enough that we can share it with the community and our local foodbank.

We also have the following volunteer gardening events:

Friday 9.30am - 11am

Permaculture food forest, Fruit Trees & Indigenous Garden

Friday 11am - 1pm

At Macedon & Mount Macedon Community House, we take immense pride in fostering an atmosphere of inclusion, diversity, and belonging. We celebrate the unique backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences that each individual brings to our community. Every person is valued and respected here, creating a space where all are welcome to participate, learn, and connect. Together, we weave the rich tapestry of our community, united by the spirit of understanding and collaboration.
We acknowledge and thank the Traditional Owners of the land, the Wurundjeri, on which we meet, walk, work and live. We acknowledge the Elders past, present and emerging and the care they have given to this country.
We also acknowledge local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander residents of Macedon Ranges for their ongoing contribution to the diverse culture of our community.
